One of the great things about Los Angeles is that the city is brimming with opportunity. You never know who you're going to see when you're out, and you never know who you're actually going to meet. LA is wide open and diverse, and my friends always provide laughs and adventure. Since this is one of the most heavily visited parts of TransAngeles, a few more pages have been added. The girls of Southern California are an exceptional group. Seldom will you find such terrific chicks who are so much fun.

Post-fashion show at 7969 for Lydia's TV at Club Stiletto. What a night it was. I came out to Guns & Roses "Welcome To The Jungle" in a patent leather bustier and a cat-o-nine tails (see photo on right). Suffice it to say, we stirred things up with the crowd::::
On the left, with the lovely and talented Cat Harrison, owner of Prizzi's in Hollywood. Cat has been a great friend and mentor to Tina. If you watch HBO's Unscripted, you may have seen her restaurant. It's right next to the Tamarind Theatre on Franklin. Did we mention that she's got the best Italian food in LA? It's true. Stop by and say Tina Dee sent you:::::
If you're browsing through here and you're transgendered, but you've never been out in public, you are missing out, period. We've been around the block a few times, in many different social and work situations over the years. As thrill seekers, we've gotta tell ya, there are few things that compare to assuming a new - or - true - identity out in public. For sure, it can be a daunting process, especially if you don't have experience, but the payoff is well worth getting past any obstacles that you think are in front of you. There is definitely an illusary wall of fear if you've never been out before, but that's all it is... illusary. Once you break through that barrier, a whole new world will open up to you... a world that may be hard for you to even conceptualize if you've never ventured out into the world. All of that "but somebody will 'make me' or recognize me" is just useless fear. Nobody is going to recognize you. Think about it. That kind of thinking is just plain silly and can keep you trapped inside... that's just no good.
If you are considering getting out for the first time and you're looking for help, inspiration or reading to equip you for your first journey, be sure to visit the Resource Centre pages for some helpful tools. We can almost guarantee that once you make that first step out, you'll be saying "Why didn't I do this earlier?" Yeah, it IS that much fun. Don't wait to long... now is always the time. Tina spent her first couple of years in LA working in an outreach capacity to those new to the tg social scene, during which time she spoke with and helped many girls through their first nights out. If we can be of any assistance to you, feel free to write. Guys, if you've never been to a transgendered club or mingled with tg girls, first and foremost, be nice. Many girls out there are waiting to meet you. With that in mind, remember that charm, personality, intelligence and a sense of humor go a very long way. Nobody likes a lurker (ler-ker). That's what we call the droves of men who can't communicate, yet they loom around, mumbling, failing to communicate. Be yourself, smile and relax.
